-
- WinIRC was the version that Peter Tattam put out sometime ago. There is another
- program called WSIRC that is recent and quite good. You can get it as
- wsirc12b.zip in the ../win3/uploads directory on CICA or any CICA mirror site
- (i.e. nic.switch.ch or polecat.law.indiana.edu).

- Subject: Baud-Rate Dialing ques
-
- Hello, I am using Trumpet vers. 1.0a and dialing into a SLIP server.
-
- I have a 14.4K baud modem and wonder what is the maximum speed I can use
- to connect with. For instance, with my Mac, using the same modem, I can set
- the Baud rate at 57,600 baud, which I seem to be able to connect with and all
- runs fine (and quickly) When I use the same modem on my PC with Trumpet,
- despite what I put as the baud rate in SETUP, the best I can connect at is
- 14,400 baud. I suspect my modem isn't 'negotiating' with the answering modem
- in order to obtain 56.7 baud. What could be going 'wrong' (if anything).
-
- I have set CSLIP compression on, and am using a hardware Handshaking cable.
-
- -thanks in advance, GREG_KAISEN@QUICKMAIL.YALE.EDU

- Subject: MS Daytona and Mosaic 2.0a4
-
-
- I loaded up Daytona and now my Mosaic doesn't work anymore.
- All other apps work fine.
- I don't want to go back to 16 bit anything as response time is great.
- I have tried mailing NCSA, but just got an automail message how incredible the
- response has been to Mosaic and that they will get back to me soon.
-
- Any hints or pointers?

-
- I'm using WSAAsyncSelect with MS 32-bit beta. My test programs write
- megabytes of data to the socket. It (for me) correctly responds with
- WSAEWOULDBLOCK when its buffers are full, and I later get the FD_WRITE
- that allows the app to continue.
-
- However, my socket is in blocking mode when the initial connect() is issued.
- When I run my tests with a non-blocking connect, I get the behavior you
- describe, i.e. I never receive the FD_WRITE that would indicate I can
- use the connection.

- Subject: Remote Windows using WinSock?
-
- Does anyone know of an application similar to PCAnywhere that allows remote
- access of a PC running windows. I need it to use IP for transport. I guess
- it would sort of be like X but for MS-windows.
-
- Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
